How listings are chosen

We only list real businesses that have made a public claim we can link to. That can be their own website, a product page, a stockist's listing or a press report. We never infer a claim we can't source.

Confidence ratings

• High: the business itself says it, on its own site or in a direct quote.
• Medium: the claim comes from a stockist, from second-hand reporting, or from a statement with a narrow scope, such as "not in the trial". It can also mean the listing relies on a legal exemption such as wholemeal.
• Unverified – check with seller: we found a mention but not a clear statement.

Products, suppliers and labels change. Prior's Flour, for example, notes that some old bags still list fortificants. Each listing reflects what its source said when we checked it.

Disclaimer

This is not medical or nutritional advice. The UK government recommends folic acid fortification for public health, particularly to reduce neural tube defects. The FSA has approved Bovaer as safe. If you have a medical reason to avoid an ingredient, speak to a health professional. Always confirm ingredients and sourcing with the seller before you buy. Listing a business is not an endorsement, and businesses have not paid to appear.

How this site will make money

Unfortified UK plans to use affiliate links in future. That means we may earn a small commission if you buy something after clicking a link, at no extra cost to you. Any affiliate link will be clearly labelled. Commissions will never affect which businesses we list or the confidence rating they get. We have no affiliate partnerships yet, and no business has paid to appear.

Privacy & cookies

Unfortified UK is a static directory. Its own page code does not set cookies, store information in your browser, or load analytics or advertising scripts. There are no visitor accounts, submission forms, newsletter signups or online payments on this site.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. It may process technical information, including IP addresses and information about requests and devices, to provide and protect its services. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for details.

Links to sources and sellers take you to other websites. Those websites receive information associated with your visit and may use cookies or other tracking under their own policies. Please check their privacy notices and cookie choices before buying or sharing personal information. There are currently no affiliate tracking links on this site.
